Montescudaio is a tourist and agricultural center to the shoulders of the Tuscany shoreline of Cecina. Since the 1405, Montescudaio is a history rich country and its historical center maintains traces of several periods.

Bolgheri is a fraction of the municipal district of Castagneto Carducci which is located in a few km at north-west in regard to the chief town. It rises in the middle of the Livorno's Maremma, on the last ramification of the Metalliferous hills. The characteristic village has developed around the medieval castle( remodelled over the centuries) that rises on the top of a hill that can be reached by the suggestive "Viale dei Cipressi", a road long nearly five km that starts downstream, on the "via Aurelia", just in front of the eighteenth-century "Oratorio di San Guido" : the place was made famous with the verses of Giosuè Carducci in the poetry "Davanti San Guido"(1874). Also, in the village is located the monumental cemetery where the grandmother of the poet was buried. Volterra is an Italian municipality of 11042 habitants in Pisa's district. The city, famous for the extraction and the manufacture of alabaster, preserves a considerable historical centre of Etruscan origin( of this epoch remains the Porta all'Arco, magnificently conserved; the Porta Diana, that conserves the blocks of the strains; much of the walls, built with cyclopean blocks of local stone; and numerous hypogeal used for the burial of the dead), with Roman ruins and medieval buildings such as the cathedral and the Palace of the Priori on the homonymous square, that is the nerve centre of the population. The name is obviously of Etruscan origin and after it has been adapted to the Latin "voloterrae" . Velathri (the ancient Etruscan name of Volterra) was part of the Etruscan confederation, called Etruscan dodecapoli or lucumonies.The king (and high priest) was called luchmon (lacumone). Part of the municipal territory was the epicentre of the earthquake of the 2nd August 1853, which reached the magnitude 4.63 of the Richter scale and the V-VI degree of Mercalli's scale. Sienawas founded as Roman colony at the time of the imperator Augusto and it took the name of Saena Iulia. Inside the Siena's historical centre there have been found sites of Etruscan period, that can make us think that the city has been established from Etruscan. The first known document in which is cited Siena's community dates back to the seventies and got the signature of Tacito that, in the IV book of Historiae, reports the following episode: the senator Manlio Patruito reported to Rome that he has been beated and ridiculed with false funeral during his official visit to Saena Iulia, little military colony of Tuscia.
